Our Team
Founded in 2018, Pathways to Restorative Communities (P2RC) facilitators have experience working in schools, businesses, community groups, and families. We've worked as educators and administrators in public, private, and charter schools from pre-school through college levels.
Several of our facilitators volunteer with Communities for Restorative Justice (C4RJ), which partners with law enforcement and provides a restorative path toward repair after a crime, rather than a punitive one.
Restorative Practices are more than an approach, they are a way of life. At P2RC we strive to embody and live the Restorative tenets of curiosity, unconditional positive regard, and dignity for all in our daily lives. Get to know us by reading below, or schedule a call to talk with us.
Beth Hampson

My commitment to teaching and learning has spanned 30+ years and every age from preschool through high school. I began my journey as an undergraduate studying elementary education, tutoring and student teaching in Washington, D.C. public schools. Those early experiences opened my eyes to systemic racism and the historical roots of inequity—and shaped my belief that education can be a path to justice.

An undergraduate degree in Anthropology led me to teaching, where my curiosity about how humans relate to each other helped me form strong bonds and hold high expectations for my students. Working with both students and adults, the common thread connecting every role I have is my belief that everyone, no matter what, possesses dignity, deserves respect, and needs connection.

I come to this work at the intersection of educational leadership, pastoral care, and justice. My journey began in urban schools. As a longtime educator, school leader, and ordained minister I understand the transformative power of listening and creating spaces where people feel seen and valued.

Rachel King
Facilitator/TrainerFor over two decades, I have been facilitating restorative justice conferences in community and school-based programs. I specialize in issues of identity-based and sexual harm in education.

Candace Julyan
RetiredAfter a long career in science, research and environmental education, I turned my focus to conflict resolution. I have worked in the fields of mediation and restorative justice, holding a variety of roles including court mediator, trainer, circle keeper, case coordinator, and consultant.
Janice Durham
RetiredI hold a master's degree in counseling and have an extensive background in public health with a focus on prevention and adult learning. I am a mediator in the district courts, mediating small claims and housing disputes.
Learn more about our impact
We work with a wide range of people and organizations, including schools, businesses, non-profits, faith-based organizations, young people, teachers, school counselors, youth workers, administrators, community leaders, and others who want to bring Restorative Practices to their particular context. Individuals from all over the country have participated in our online trainings.
