Workshops

Our workshops include a mix of experiential and theoretical learning, in which participants learn the philosophy and values underpinning Restorative Practices, as well as participate in circles themselves. When appropriate, workshops include assignments to practice implementing Restorative Practices, which ensures our participants are building and utilizing skills throughout the training. Join us for one of our open trainings or contact us about tailoring a workshop to address the needs of your organization.

Examples of Workshops:

Training and Coaching

We employ a combination of training and coaching to support you in integrating various tiers of Restorative Practices into your community. We customize our training to meet the needs of your community and help you develop a plan for implementing Restorative Practices, including steps such as workshops, training circle keepers, and providing ongoing coaching and support.

Examples of training and coaching programs:

Capacity Building: We train individuals to become Circle Keepers, so that your community is empowered with the skills to facilitate your own restorative processes. We tailor the training to each group, depending on their needs and the context in which they will be holding circles. We have trained groups of students, teachers, administrators, members of religious organizations, young people and others. Our training includes follow-up coaching to help Circle Keepers refine their skills as they learn through experience.

Integrating Restorative Practices in Schools: We help you figure out how to incorporate Restorative Practices into your school day and school culture, including for students, administrators, staff and parents. We show you how RP can be integrated as part of Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS), Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Trauma Informed Teaching, Culturally Responsive Teaching, and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) initiatives.

Transitioning to Restorative Solutions:
We help you make the shift to restorative discipline from punitive discipline. We explain the how and why of this shift in paradigms - from addressing broken rules to healing broken relationships. We provide training in three tiers of Restorative Practices: Community Building Circles, Restorative Chats, and Restorative Conferences, which serve to develop relationships, manage disruptive conflicts, and repair serious harm.

Facilitation: Stepping Into Your Community

We facilitate circles for building relationships, handling conflict, repairing harm, and helping you move forward. We will step into your community through a series of interviews and conversations in order to understand the various issues and perspectives at play. We design our circles to address the specific issues that have arisen, facilitating conversations that encourage connection, honest sharing, and movement toward solutions. We have helped organizations who thought they were at an impasse create new ways to move forward and have seen fractured communities find reconnection.

Please note: We are based in the greater Boston area and offer services both online and in person. Our open workshops are all conducted online. For trainings tailored to your organization, we collaborate on a plan of service delivery that can include a combination of online and in-person work, depending on your location.
